Don't let noise drag down energy storage ESS projects, first identify the core challenges!

2026-03

In today's era of widespread use of energy storage power stations, transformer substations, generator sets, and outdoor energy equipment, noise issues are no longer as simple as "a bit noisy", but rather a common industry problem that directly affects project acceptance, environmental impact assessment compliance, complaints from surrounding residents, and long-term stable operation of equipment. Many projects end up stuck in noise reduction. 1、 Let me clarify: Where does the noise from energy storage devices come from?

The noise of energy storage systems is not from a single source, but from the superposition of multiple sound sources:
1. To ensure constant temperature of the battery, energy storage cabinets, all-in-one machines, and container power stations must be forced to ventilate and dissipate heat 24 hours a day. Fans, compressors, and fans operating at high speeds are the main and longest lasting sources of mid to low frequency noise.

2. Equipment operation vibration noise
Inverters, transformers, and battery clusters generate electromagnetic and mechanical vibrations during operation, which are transmitted through cabinets and the ground to form low-frequency humming sounds with strong penetrating power. 3. Airflow wind noise&vortex noise

Traditional louvers only provide ventilation and do not reduce noise. When the airflow enters and exits the box at high speed, wind noise, whistling, and vortex sound are generated, and the noise spreads directly outward without any obstruction. 4. External environment+structural resonance
The equipment casing, air duct, doors and windows form resonance, and the noise is further amplified, still evident at a distance of several tens of meters.

2、 Industry pain point: Why is noise reduction so difficult? Puncture the pain points of the project personnel in every sentence
1. The environmental impact assessment did not pass, and the energy storage project located near residential areas, industrial parks, and municipal roads was directly stuck. The noise exceeded the standard and could not be accepted, resulting in extremely high rectification costs and even delaying project progress.
2. Traditional louvers only provide ventilation without reducing noise. Ordinary rainproof louvers or ventilation louvers only have dust-proof and rainproof functions, and have almost no attenuation effect on noise. Noise comes and goes directly, which is equivalent to installing a "sound amplification port" for the equipment. 3. Once the noise is reduced, the air will be blocked and the equipment will sound an alarm for temperature rise
Many solutions blindly seal and thicken sound insulation in order to reduce noise, resulting in:
Sudden decrease in ventilation volume
Poor heat dissipation
The battery temperature rises
Alarm, power limit, impact on lifespan
Trapped in a vicious cycle of reduced voice=blocked air, ventilation=noise.

4. Low frequency noise is difficult to handle, ordinary materials cannot suppress energy storage, and the box often produces low-frequency buzzing sound with strong penetration. Ordinary sponges, rock wool, and simple louvers cannot block it at all, and over time, it is also prone to moisture, debris, and blockage of air ducts

5. The outdoor environment is harsh, and ordinary noise reduction products are not durable
Outdoor exposure to sunlight, rain, dust, and corrosion can cause many indoor noise reduction materials to break down as soon as they are used:
moldy
transform
Sound absorbing cotton failure
Extremely high maintenance costs

6. High rectification costs, tight schedule, and no one-stop solution
Adding noise reduction in the later stage of the project requires dismantling cabinets, modifying air ducts, and re drilling, which is costly, labor-intensive, and time-consuming. Many manufacturers only sell products and do not provide adaptation solutions. If you have projects involving energy storage/transformer/generator sets/outdoor energy equipment, you are likely to have encountered the following issues: noise, strict environmental impact assessment, difficult ventilation, expensive rectification, and lack of durability. And there is only one truly mature solution:
At the first channel of the air inlet and outlet, the noise is' eaten up 'without affecting the heat dissipation and ventilation.
This is also the reason why our Huaxia New Energy (formerly known as Huaxia Ventilation) new generation soundproof louvers are specifically designed to solve industry pain points.
